This position is primarily* Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework-effective-7-21-21.pdf) with a need to occasionally travel to attend meetings in the office. This team is currently teleworking; however, this may change in the future with notice.*

*This is a telework position but may require occasional visits to the office for meetings*

As the Occupational Health and Wellness Director you will supervise the Integrated Conflict Management Team, Workers Compensation staff supporting the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT), and the Occupational Health Supervisor. In this position you will:

  • Provide oversight of evaluation, risk analysis, management advice, coordination and strategic direction to all DCT occupational Health operations.

  • Direct activities that monitor, audit, analyze and report program performance against established standards.

  • Coordinate the settlement process for claims in litigation by working with the Department of Administration and DHS management

  • Coordinates functions across all units within the Direct Care and Treatment Human Resources Office and assists in developing and implementing strategic direction for HR.

In this role, you will be the primary contact for the Department of Administration, managed care providers, disability managers and legal counsels for Risk Management and private sector; manage assigned cases; collect and investigate claims; resolve issues; and collaborate with appropriate parties to determine the best plan of action. This position will also provide consultation & advanced professional support to DHS management.

Minimum Qualifications

Leadership experience: Demonstrated leadership experience may include any of the following:

o Experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, OR project lead*

o Completion of a State leadership development program, such as Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) or Senior Leadership Institute (SLI), L4, etc. OR

o Completion of a similar or equivalent leadership development program through another organization OR

o A paid or unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee, such as an Employee Resource Group (ERG). This experience must also include:

1+ years of identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions

100+ hours per year time commitment

AND

Three years of experience with research in the Occupational Health field demonstrating the following Human Resources competencies:

  • Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, word processing, querying existing information and running reports.

  • Working with proof of vaccination and testing processes, procedures and documents.

  • Collecting information/data; auditing and verifying the accuracy of the data and reports.

Preferred Qualifications
