The opportunity:

Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist / Spécialiste en réadaptation professionnelle

Contract position - from Novemeber 4, 2024 to April 1, 2026

Location / Lieu: Remote anywhere in Canada– all client services delivered through virtual platforms (i.e.

Teams/Zoom video meeting) / Télétravail – tous les services aux clients sont fournis via des plateformes virtuelles (c'est-à-dire des réunions vidéo sur Teams/Zoom).

Salary: TBA / À déterminer

Hours: 35 hours per week / 35 heures par semaine

Responsibilities:

  • Accept referral and review the client plan/documentation as provided by the referral source, where applicable

  • Provide services virtually (ie. via Teams/Zoom video meetings) to adults who have disabilities and arechallenged by employment barriers.

  • Assist individuals with disabilities to identify realistic employment options through vocational testing, assessment and exploration

  • Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research

  • Provide job placement services including job development, coordination of on the job supports, job site analysis and job accommodation

  • Provide employment and motivational counseling

  • Case manage services to ensure timely and cost effective service delivery

  • Complete required service reports

  • Achieve quality service standards for client satisfaction, timely delivery of service and employment outcomes

  • Attend outreach events to promote services within local region (where applicable)

  • Some travel may be required

  • Fournir des services de placement, y compris le développement d'emplois, la coordination des soutiens sur le lieu de travail, l'analyse des sites de travail et l'adaptation des postes

  • Offrir un accompagnement en emploi et un counseling motivationnel

  • Gérer les cas pour garantir une prestation de services rapide et rentable

  • Compléter les rapports de service requis

  • Atteindre des normes de qualité de service en matière de satisfaction des clients, de rapidité de la prestation de services et de résultats en matière d'emploi

  • Assister à des événements de sensibilisation pour promouvoir les services dans la région locale (le cas échéant)

  • Des déplacements peuvent être nécessaires

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligible to obtain Return to Work Disability Management (RTWDM) designation, CVRP, or equivalent; relevant experience will also be considered

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability Management or Social Sciences (ie Psychology/Sociology etc) preferred OR diploma &/or certificate in Vocational Rehabilitation, Career Development Practice, Disability Management or Life Care Planning

  • Minimum of three years experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation with people with disabilities

  • Extensive knowledge of private sector and labor market trends

  • Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience

  • Excellent written & verbal communication and customer service skills

  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset

  • Well developed time management, organization and teamwork skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software

  • Ability to document, maintain records and assist in reports

Compétences requises:

  • Éligible pour obtenir la désignation de Gestion des incapacités au retour au travail (RTWDM), CVRP ou équivalent ; une expérience pertinente sera également prise en compte

  • Diplôme de baccalauréat ou diplôme en réhabilitation professionnelle, gestion des incapacités ou sciences sociales (c'est-à-dire psychologie/sociologie, etc.) de préférence, OU diplôme et/ou certificat en réhabilitation professionnelle, pratique du développement de carrière, gestion des incapacités ou planification des soins de vie

  • Minimum de trois ans d'expérience en réhabilitation professionnelle avec des personnes en situation de handicap

  • Connaissance approfondie des tendances du marché du travail et du secteur privé

  • Sensibilité aux problèmes/obstacles rencontrés par les personnes en situation de handicap

  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale ainsi qu'en service à la clientèle

  • Bilingue (français/anglais) est un atout

  • Compétences bien développées en gestion du temps, organisation et travail d'équipe

  • Capacité démontrée à établir des priorités et à bien travailler sous pression

  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office et des logiciels Adobe

  • Capacité à documenter, maintenir des dossiers et aider à la rédaction de rapports
