We have an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineering Intern to work in a dynamic R&D environment. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference.
DEKA offers Internships and Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred. All Summer internships must start no later than June 21, 2021.
How you will make an impact:
Develop and maintain control systems for innovative medical and robotic products
Develop and design new prototype devices and test fixtures
Design systems using mechanical, electrical design and software development skills.
Develop medical devices according to FDA design practices
Failure mode and effect analysis on control systems
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering program at least junior level, masters preferred.
Must show a strong background in both the Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
Strong software experience with Python, C/C++, LabView, and/or PLC?s.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter eager to contribute in a team environment
Must be detail oriented
