National Grid Land Surveyor Higher Apprentice in Manchester, United Kingdom

About The Role

Join our dynamic team at National Grid as a Land Surveyor Apprentice and be part of the largest overhaul of the electricity grid in generations. With a starting salary over £29,000, this hybrid and flexible role offers the opportunity to work from home while supporting existing and new infrastructure projects across England and Wales. Depending on your home base, occasional travel to the Warwick or Leeds office will be required

As an apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience and knowledge in various lands teams. You will be on a 5 year programme, working towards a L6 Chartered Surveyor degree Apprenticeship, accredited by RICS, our programme will lead you towards achieving chartered status. Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll attend university for 8-week block placements, covering the essential skills and behaviours needed for success.

Negotiating compensation claims, liaising with landowners, and contributing to large-scale projects are just a few exciting aspects of this role. Don't miss this alternative route to university, where you'll earn a competitive salary while developing your career in the energy industry.

We have openings in two distinct teams for this role: Strategic Infrastructure - Land & Property and Electricity Transmission – Land & Property. Consequently, there are multiple locations available for this position, including Leeds, Preston, Warwick, and field-based with occasional travel to regional offices. Entry requirements:

• GCSE’s in Maths & English at grade 5 or higher.

• 3 A-Levels at Grade C or higher, or equivalent.

• You will need to have a valid UK driving licence within the first 12 months of the programme.
