Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing and directing the development and evaluation of the Clinical Support staff for the nursing and pharmacy services. Monitors and ensures the Clinical Support staff completes their assignments within the pharmacy team to meet internal and external customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Applies appropriate ethical, legal, confidentiality and advocacy principles to the planning and delivery of patient care.

  2. Implements and evaluates new and existing processes. Develops and recommends changes as necessary to ensure effective and efficient communication among team members.

  3. Executes plans of action to achieve clinical department goals. Monitors team activities that support the pharmacy team process.

  4. Manages clinical support function in nursing and pharmacy (excludes warehouse). Manages the interactions of clinical support specialists by observing and obtaining feedback from patients and other team members. Functions as a clinical support specialist in accordance with all state regulations in the absence of staff to include any and all duties normally assigned to a clinical support specialist.

  5. Manages the admissions huddles and morning meetings. Retrieves on-call messages each morning and reviews on-call printout in daily morning meeting.

  6. Documents all communications in the patient clinical chart and obtains co-signatures from a nurse or pharmacist that relate to patient care.

  7. Resolves issues in collaboration with management on deferred start of care assignments.

  8. Supports the territory management plan and pushes team to utilize the territory management plan in collaboration with staff

  9. Responds to customer inquiries and resolves patient complaints and communicates timely issues that require a nurse or pharmacist.

  10. Communicates regularly with all departments and managers to ensure knowledge and understanding of new regulations, policies, and procedures

  11. Collaborates with the Pharmacy Manager on financial reports (MIR, M&E) to ensure accuracy, researches variances, and develops appropriate action plans when indicated to reach budget goals

  12. Responsible for hiring, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and disciplining staff as needed.

  13. Complies with the Company’s policy on the allowable clean room garb and dress code requirements.

14 Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED) or Associates Degree

Bachelor Degree

Leadership experience

National tech certification

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,888.00 - $93,574.80

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
