Camp Office and Registration Coordinator

We're looking for a mission-driven Camp Office and Registration Coordinator who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

  • Register participants for programs using CampBrain, an online registration system.

  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all participants, ensuring a smooth registration process.

  • Comfortable multi-tasking between data entry, assisting participants with inquiries and resolving issues, booking transportation, and other guest-related tasks.

  • Ensure accuracy and privacy of participant information and update data accordingly.

  • Create reports including rooming/cabin lists, feeding numbers, excursion lists, arrival/departure and transportation schedules, attendance, etc.

  • Complete financial tasks: prepare invoices, process payments, complete bank deposits, receipts, refunds, Daily Cash Report’s (DCRs), expense reports, etc.

  • Oversee Tuck Shop and online Camp Store operations.

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of seasonal Guest Services staff.

  • Within the spirit of the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement, foster a Culture of Volunteerism through the coordination, recruitment, supervision, recognition, and retention of volunteers.

  • Help foster a Culture of Philanthropy and support fundraising activities.

  • Support the achievement of CNIB strategic ambitions.

  • Ensure adherence to current Health and Safety legislation and requirements.

Education and Certifications

  • A combination of education and experience in business administration, customer service, hospitality or related industries will be considered.

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C”

  • Current Bronze Cross/NLS is an asset.

  • Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.

  • Current Driver’s Abstract is required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skill; uses tact and diplomacy.

  • Ability to handle private and confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Proficient in using registration software and databases.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Previous experience in guest services or registration is preferred.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices is an asset.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supervisory practices, principles, and administration.

  • Previous experience within a camp, recreational or hospitality environment is an asset.

  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.

  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

  • Experience with CampBrain Database is an asset.

  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals is an asset.

  • Experience with Square and POS (Point of Sale) systems is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Zoom and/or video conferencing software is an asset.

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to work from the CNIB Lake Joe office during operations April through October.

  • Flexibility to work camp hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Occasional travel may be required.
