Eastern Bank Treasury Analyst III in Lynn, Massachusetts

We are seeking an experienced Senior ALM Analyst to join our Asset Liability Management (ALM) team, with a focus on interest rate risk measurement and management. The Senior Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team, helping to analyze, monitor, and optimize interest rate risk associated with our balance sheet. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bank finance, ALM, and financial modeling. This hybrid position has opportunity to work at either our corporate headquarters in Boston’s financial district or our Finance & Operations center in Wakefield.

  • Co-lead the Bank’s ALM modeling function, including the measurements of net income at risk and economic value at risk under various rising and falling rate scenarios across parallel and non-parallel yield curve shifts.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and Finance colleagues on model enhancements, model assumption development & support, and model maintenance.

  • Conduct regular back-testing of modeled results with an eye towards enhancing model performance and accuracy.

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of the Bank’s ALCO process on topics such as balance sheet dynamics, net interest margin trends, ALM risks, and strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor regulatory changes, industry trends, and evolving modeling best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and industry standards.

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING :

This position will report to the SVP, Corporate Treasury. The role requires an analytical mindset and good decision-making skills with some degree of autonomy expected. The responsibilities of the role will have a direct impact on ALM and broader business goals and will support the Bank’s financial stability, business goals & strategy, and growth initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting

  • Progress toward MSF, MBA or similar degree a plus

  • 5-7+ years of related work experience

Skills/Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of bank financials, financial analysis and forecasting, and risk management principles

  • Strong foundational understanding of derivatives, fixed income securities, financial markets, and economic trends

  • High proficiency in Excel; Experience with Power BI, Empyrean ALM, PowerQuery a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and strong quantitative skills

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
