Tufts Medicine Imaging Informatics Technologist in Lowell, Massachusetts
POSITION SUMMARY: The Imaging Informatics Technologist performs services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. The Technologist works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality healthcare. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides informatics system administration, including database management and help call response, as backup for Imaging Informatics Manager.
Experience with troubleshooting and fixing workstations.
Server experience and desktop support experience.
Performs PACS auditing and quality assurance checks during system implementation and on a weekly basis.
Corrects corrupted studies; splits and merges studies as needed.
Performs QC as indicated for PACS-related hardware, including but not limited to monitors, document scanners, and reading stations.
Responsibilities include technical support for PACS applications, network connectivity and clinical workflow.
Actively manages exams performed outside of the department in the PAC and RIS systems.
Acts as liaison in digital imaging initiatives with the department and with other departments and vendors.
Provides system administration to include assisting end users with PACS-related issues, assigning and updating user and system passwords and access levels.
Actively seeks ways to improve information flow and ensure timely and accurate transfer of information.
Acts as an application trainer for radiology related to medical imaging procedures and assists with existing or new endeavors.
Monitors the Worklist for corrections to missing results, unlinked exams, canceled studies, and temporary patients or missing accession numbers.
Interacts with the RIS, Dictation and other systems as they relate to PACS functionality.
Understand workflow, policies and procedures and technology in order to support imaging informatics applications used in the clinical imaging environment.
