Tufts Medicine Environmental Services Project Lead, Hospital Cleaning in Lowell, Massachusetts

Our Environmental Services Workers are a critical part of our team as they perform a range of housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a clean and sanitized environment throughout the hospital.

The Environmental Services Project Lead supervises shift designated areas according to the department’s policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. This position works cooperatively within, and across departments and other services to create a system of quality health care. This position coordinates the department daily tasks, among frontline employees, and ensure a clean, safe environment. This position is responsible for room inspections, coordinating scheduled floor care, shift lineup coverage, inter-department customer relations and supervision of TDSS and Bed Tracking. This position will also perform various other tasks to aid the shift they are assigned to by the Environmental Services department. Including covering shift positions when the department has scheduling constraints.

Job duties:

• Performs beginning and end of shift check-in, and rounds through facility. • Carries the Environmental Services lead ASCOM and Pager at all times for alerts and communication, or the second lead ASCOM. • Ensures the phone system is followed by shift staff when taking requests from TDSS and BedTracking. • Coordinates and executes small furniture moves, and room setups in a timely manner. • Coordinates all project work assigned by management for shift(s), and communicates progress of work with other shift leads. • Maintains composure and professionalism during difficult situations. • Inventory is kept current and communicated to manager when supplies are needed. • Conducts room inspections on a daily basis. • Conducts monthly employee safety committee meetings, and monthly department safety inspections. • Covers shift positions when the department has scheduling constraints on specific days. • Communicates through email or document shift reports daily

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School/GED or equivalent preferred

  • For safety and quality reasons, must speak, read, write and understand English fluently

  • Team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment
