UX/UI Designer -Production Consumer Products

job summary:

Our internal creative agency setting design and brand direction for our digital products. We are responsible for the user experience and visual branding of a wide range of digital platforms (iOS, Android, web, tvOS, Fire TV, Xbox, Windows) for our sports, news and entertainment apps in North America. Our team oversees all phases of the design process, from concept to design production. We work closely with a brilliant team of product owners, engineers and business owners to apply strategic design solutions or insights to delight core users.

We need a UX/UI Designer (UXUID) to support senior team members on UX and UI design initiatives across our entertainment, news and sports properties. Reporting to our Senior UI Lead, this role will primarily engage in the continuous design and evolution of our growing design systems, its libraries and connected workflows. Additionally, the UXUID will also provide critical support on all necessary fronts, from UI execution all the way to developer hand off, all the while collaborating with senior designers and project leads in keeping projects on time and on schedule.

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in user experience design or related field

  • A design portfolio displaying a strong focus and understanding of UI design, design systems and prototyping

  • Mastery of design tools such as Sketch, Abstract, Figma

  • Mastery of prototyping software such as InVision, Figma and or Framer

  • High proficiency in designing across multiple devices, from OTT (tvOS, Roku or FireTV) to responsive web and mobile apps

  • A mastery of general visual design principles such as layout, color, space, form, typography, form and photography

  • A strong understanding of how user-centered design principles and interaction design coexist and work in tandem with UI design

  • Well versed in the latest technology and industry trends (from iOS, to Roku to responsive web)

  • Experience in UX centered tasks including wire frames, feature/competitive audits, etc.

  • Effectively manage your time by collaborating closely with design project management on schedules, estimates and time lines

  • Experience with project management software tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, Quip

  • Proactive, motivated and an initiative taker. Waiting idly is not in your DNA. While you can follow direction and process where need be, you also thrive building such when needed.

  • Collaborate with senior design staff to execute concepts, UI design, UI Production, design systems and prototyping for a host of features and user experience needs

  • Contribute to the ongoing design and implementation of visual design systems

  • Apply design systems thinking and methodologies to deliver highly organized, structured and detail oriented solutions

  • Help author design system documentation including component definitions, usage, rules, accessibility design, UI states, and style guides

  • Continually maintain and audit the design system libraries to enforce UI consistency on all existing digital products.

  • Communicate with fellow designers and developers in order to help define additional design systems rules.

  • Translate UI reference screens from one device or one screen size to many

  • Produce well organized design deliverables ready for developer hand-off

  • Execute UI revisions after stake holder feedback

  • Help build high and low fidelity prototypes to communicate animation needs and rules to developers

  • Love and believe in the value of good experience design; always representing the end user's needs at all times
