Business Analyst Lead – Change

How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The Change Team provides a portfolio, programme and project management service to AXIS– enabling change to be delivered efficiently and effectively for our stakeholders. The Change Team features many aligned capabilities such as project management, change management, PMO – and Business Analysis. Leadership of the business analysis team will contribute to the success of projects by enhancing decision-making by providing data-driven insights, scrutiny and ensuing alignment to business objectives.

What will you do in this role?

Management

  1. Line management and personal development responsibilities for BA team. Build out team capability in the areas of business analysis and to performance manage the team.

  2. To work with the Head of Change, the PMO and Project Managers in resource allocation for the projects in flight and in the future pipeline.

  3. Develop deep understanding of the business to add value in developing solution options and problem solving. Continual process review of all internal procedures to identify areas where current processes are not working effectively/efficiently.

  4. Ensuring the Change function is conducting its business in line with all regulatory requirements and involvement in market driven projects where required.

  5. Engage with a range of stakeholders across a variety of business functions by identifying and having good working relationships with all stakeholders and business users involved within projects or change.

  6. Capturing, analysing, and documenting business process requirements. Assessing the business impact of any change or new process requirements identified

  7. Liaise with the business, facilitating meetings and workshops to gain an understanding of their area and working closely with the business throughout the whole assignment. Provide the business with effective support and advice/expertise in relation to operational changes to be used/implemented, including updated procedures and User Guides

  8. Introducing new and improved processes to the business and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders

  9. Plan, organise, co-ordinate and control UAT effort for all process and system changes.

  10. To support the creation of the business case/project charter and any associated proposal documents, including acting as an expert related to business analysis when needed.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You:

What you need to have:

• Insurance industry experience including London Market and Lloyd’s preferred.

• Strong relationship management skills

• Effective communication skills in both written and oral form

• A high level of analytical, problem solving and numerical skills.

• Ability to understand problems and express the complexity of them in clear terms in varying formats depending on the audience.

• Excellent client facing skills/collaboration and stakeholder management and engagement.

• Ability to influence and coordinate senior stakeholders and concurrent projects.

• Able to work effectively and self-sufficiently.

• Aptitude for multi-tasking, working to emerging and tight timelines.

• Strong process mapping skills with process improvement experience

• MS Office, including Visio and advanced Excel.

What we prefer you to have:

• Experience of working within an Operations function preferred.

• Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.

• Project Management, i.e., Prince II qualification beneficial
