LSEG Solutions Consultant, Sustainable Finance / ESG in London, United Kingdom

The Solution Consultant function provides deep domain knowledge and solution design expertise throughout the entire sales cycle by supporting customer engagements via activities such as gathering requirements, solution design, developing proof of concepts, demonstrating solution capabilities, and specifying deliverables in a Statement of Work.

The Solution Consultant is critical in the handover of the engagement to the implementation/delivery team post signature, helping ensure continuity between specification and delivery.

The Solution Consultant works in close partnership with the Proposition Sales Specialist who leads the business, contractual and commercial engagement with the customer.

Solutions and services supported by the Solution Consulting team cut across the full spectrum of capabilities within the Data and Analytics portfolio, so Solutions Consultants typically have a mix of technical, product and customer workflow expertise.

The successful candidate will typically have proven experience with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainable finance with a proven track record in supporting the sale of solutions in complex and challenging environments.

Role Responsibilities

This role is pivotal to the sales process, requiring coordination with colleagues in Proposition Sales, Account Management, Customer Success Specialists, Customer Proposition, Product Management, Solutions Delivery, and other teams within Refinitiv, as well as third-party partners. The successful candidate will possess a passion for critical thinking about ESG and sustainable finance, understand the latest ESG regulations and trends, understand how ESG and sustainable themes can be used to make better-informed investment decisions, and contribute to the wider ESG product and data enhancement projects for both equities and fixed income.

  • Support Workflow/Technical customer presentations

  • Solution workflow/technical design

  • Requirements clarification, specification, and documentation

  • Proof of Concept delivery including development/integration work

  • Product/Solution discussions.

  • Deliver demos of ESG content and capabilities at client sites and via Teams for pre-sales clients

  • Maintain an expert level of ESG and Sustainable Finance knowledge as well as product suites

  • Coordination with developers/third parties, Contributing to RFP and RFI responses/engagements, and overlooking coverage checks.

  • Respond speedily to customer needs, working with vitality to propose creative solutions that deliver demonstrable value

  • Act as an advocate for customer needs to the business and product teams intensifying issues quickly

  • Leading change control rigorously, avoiding scope creep and mismatched expectation

  • Coordinating client, technical and operations partners where vital

  • Travel required (EMEA)

What we are looking for ;

  • Subject matter expert in ESG and ability to articulate sustainable finance insights

  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to the dynamic, fast moving ESG field and sustainable finance

  • In depth knowledge of Financial Markets and how they work

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related position

  • Open minded, curious and enthusiastic.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills are key

  • Critical reasoning skills in order to identify problems and provide solutions quickly. Detail Oriented.

  • Analytical, organized, detail oriented, multitasking, and disciplined. Proven fast learners, self-motivated, and proven logical reasoning skills

  • Ability to effectively work within a team and to collaborate is required

  • Client-facing experience

  • English and fluency in one other main European language

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or Economics preferred

  • Knowledge of competitive ESG solutions would be a plus

  • Working knowledge of Refinitiv products would be a plus

  • CFA or MBA would be a plus
