LSEG Senior Technology Risk Manager in London, United Kingdom

Role Purpose

The Group Risk function covers all aspects of Operational Financial and Strategic risk across the Group and has a unique insight and exposure to all areas of the Group.

This role is responsible for supporting the oversight of the technology risk profile across the Group. The role sits within the Group Head of Technology, Cyber and Resilience Risk office, among a team of Technology Risk specialists performing activities including the provision of risk assurance on projects, new products, change and key controls, as well as providing advice to technology and the business on risk management and monitoring activities.

The role will require close liaison with the Group Chief Operating Officer’s team, Portfolio and Project Management, and other business stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supporting business and central function portfolios through the Group Risk Project Partnership (GRPPS) framework, pro-actively initiating and overseeing operational risk assessments for strategic and other material change initiatives

  • Adopting a business partnering approach with key technology stakeholders across the Group and for targeted business areas

  • Providing appropriate management information to provide clear visibility of the assurance programme and the risk posture of the divisional change portfolio

  • Ensure timeliness and high-quality reporting of technology risks in divisional risk registers

  • Engaging with Group Project Management and IT Service Design & Transition to identify process improvements and best practice

  • Providing guidance and challenge to 1st line of defence on risk and control management, technology strategy and delivery

  • Encouraging best practice and continuous improvement and adherence to the overall Group Risk framework

  • Attendance and participation in relevant committees, forums, project boards and workshops

  • Delivery of training and workshops to key stakeholders and employees

  • Develop strong risk culture and promote awareness

  • Ensuring adherence to the Group’s Risk Framework

  • Supporting and challenging technology practices including development, QA, release management and operational processes and procedures

  • Provide oversight and challenge of IT policies and procedures, including service delivery, incident management and change delivery.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Track record in developing strategic initiatives and projects aimed at operational risk reduction and resilience with authority and confidence Proven seniority/leadership skills in managing complex IT infrastructure programmes Experience in managing or implementing multi-cloud hosting environments (public/private) Experience in delivering or overseeing data (management) framework implementations Experience in designing and implementing control frameworks and control assurance processes Consulting skills, ideally with top-tier (IT) consultancy (minimum 3 years) A background in the financial services sector and have experience of managing IT risks A good understanding of key controls and metrics used to manage IT risks An interest in developing and delivering risk training and awareness in a creative and innovative way in relation to IT risks Excellent communication skills and be keen to collaborate across the Group, with a strong focus on innovative solutions and problem solving.
