S&P Global Private Credit Thought Leadership Lead in London, United Kingdom

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

13

The Team:

This role will be part of the S&P Ratings private markets research team within Analytical Research & Development. The purpose of this team is to generate unique market-leading insight on the private credit markets, helping provide the market with greater insights and transparency.

The Impact:

Your role will be to partner internally with economic, analytical and R&D teams, as well as externally with credit market participants, to develop timely, relevant and insightful research on the evolution of the private credit markets, particularly as it responds to changing market dynamics in a fast-changing world.

What you stand to Gain:

You will be a leading thought leader for the group who partners with analysts across S&P Ratings to ensure that our analysis and insights have a presence in the mainstream media. Our content is written for financial market participants, as well as more generic audiences outside the financial markets. The purpose of this role is to make sure that our content has a strong presence in both arenas, and that we are seen as thought leaders outside of the financial markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Thought leadership strategy: Innovate content strategy at scale across Research & Development, cascading best practices and managing processes for multi-channel thought leadership creation and distribution (across the website, platform, social media, and newsletters) to internally improve efficiencies and externally expand our accessibility, discoverability, reach, and impact.

  • Original output: Conceptualize and create relatable journalistic and thematic commentaries (for CreditWeek and Private Markets Monthly), alongside contributing narratives for key research publications and thought leadership outreach areas (including private markets research verticals) as a specialist in credit markets.

  • Content development, execution, and categorization: Stimulate timely and relevant research opportunities for Private Markets (including Credit FAQs), project manage flagship research reports (for the Global Credit Outlook), deliver research and insights through innovative multimedia storytelling (interactive infographics, LinkedIn newsletters, video, etc.), ensure visibility of thought leadership overall (digital-first approach with search engine optimization, Key Themes campaign, etc.), and creating a cohesive user experience (connecting RatingsDirect and .com content flows).

  • Audience/market engagement: Amplify the market’s awareness of and engagement with Ratings’ emerging and established risks (Private Markets, Emerging Markets, Sustainable Finance, Credit Research & Insights [CCC, CMR])—raising our readership and profile with current and target audiences and supporting data-driven decision-making for thought leadership development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 10 years’ experience as a journalist and/or analyst in credit markets generally, with at least 3 years’ experience in private markets.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. This role sits in the nexus of Thought Leadership – you must be able to both convey your strategy with your partners and peers, but you must also be able to build strong rapport with your peers regarding their analysis and market insights.

  • Team player, good time management and strong communication skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience interacting with the media and speaking at external engagement.
