Job Description

Working type: full time

Job purpose:

To provide analytical reporting and profitability insights across Europe to help explain monthly business performance results, by market and sector, supported by relevant and timely insights into the key factors driving profitability performance. The business analyst will need to work closely with various teams and stakeholders with a commercial focus on the analytical understanding of the revenues. They will also be expected to manage channels, leaders and segments for the Repricing process, which is integral to our team and the bottom line of Elavon, being one of our key deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Profitability team with analytical reviews, insightful commentary for Line of Business meetings and general support of team deliverables

  • Understanding of the key customers within the selected markets, what influences their business, what factors affect their region and develop relationships with the decision makers.

  • Support, act as a knowledge champion, process, execute and quality assure the complete Reprice process.

  • Support and develop the departmental Margin Management processes, growing them, tailoring them to drive KPIs and future initiatives – across all revenue streams, acquiring, product etc.

  • Evaluate profitability by market subgroups, segments and product to enable market leads to support additional business investments or take corrective action on negative results.

  • Conduct investigations and explanations of any material variances throughout monthly processes.

  • Work closely with Segment and channel leaders on defining and reviewing their profitability needs for future reprices.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how business drivers and the decisions made are seen in the financial numbers.

  • 2-3 years experience working in a financial environment, either telecoms, merchant services or banking.

  • Experience of working in either a finance team or pricing and profitability environment

  • Skills to understand the market and how the key drivers influence business performance

  • This position should grow and the individual have gravitas to influence market leads and sales teams and give sound business advice

  • Strong attention to detail with the skills to consolidate, view and interpret high volumes of customer level of data and to be able to provide commercial insights to support the head of market

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both oral and written – with clear ability to convey complex information in a manner that is appropriate for the audience, both in a face to face environment and also over telephone

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL language and Microsoft Excel a must. Must be flexible and adaptable and ability to work on own initiative

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
