National Grid Corporate Property Assistant Manager - 12 month FTC in London, United Kingdom

As an Assistant Manager, you'll support the Property Managers with the day-to-day management of our office estate to ensure properties are maintained and are compliant with legislative requirements. It's an exciting time in our business, as we respond to the changing office requirements with more hybrid working, and consider what our future ways of working will look like. You'll support the team in ensuring we deliver a fantastic office environment to our colleagues across the business, responding to changing customer needs.

This role is ideally suited to someone passionate about Facilities and Property Management, looking to develop their career whilst working for a company at the heart of the energy transition.

This role can be based from Warwick or London, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to offices and project sites as required.

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain our offices to deliver a fantastic experience for our colleagues.

  • Ensure compliance data is fully captured and updated in the required system.

  • Work with external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure all required property related works are completed in a timely manner.

  • Create and submit purchase orders, process invoices from service providers and manage communication with finance team members and other stakeholders.

  • Produce and develop management reports for the team and stakeholders.

About you

  • Experience of operations and maintenance in facilities or property services.

  • Some experience in Facilities Management, or equivalent transferable experience with a demonstrable interest and desire to learn.

  • A basic understanding of UK Health & Safety laws and statutory regulations relating to building management.

  • Highly customer focused with proven communication skills at different levels with both internal and external contacts.

  • Must hold a UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the regions as the business needs require.

  • A team player, willing to support the wider team and in turn receive support from them, to deliver our overarching objectives.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £39,000 - £43,652 – dependent on capability. The role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
