UX Creative Direction
The UX Creative Direction role serves as the creative leader for the digital and customer experience team, responsible for the look, feel, behavior, patterns, and all components used to create TIAA's digital experiences. This job is responsible for the voice and tone for all the language, taxonomy, and content within our experiences. The role is responsible for applying and maintaining the brand standards for the design system and editorial style guide for all experiences across TIAA digital channels. This leader and their team will create and maintain the systems and guidelines which will establish an ecosystem that inspires and simplifies how customers experience TIAA products and services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborate, influence, and manage through expertise and knowledge of digital design.
Guide human-centered, brand-right, engaging creative design and content, and tactical application - from concept through high-quality output.
Be accountable for the overall success of our journey experiences, measured in business outcomes.
Deliver integrated content across all platforms.
Build pattern libraries and progress responsive design system, in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Design and maintain style guides, UI tool kits and other design documents.
Serve as a creative thought leader both inside and outside of TIAA.
Create a positive, collaborative, and supportive culture by working as one team with focus on being customer oriented, and encouraging empathy and accountability.

Reporting directly to the Head of Design, this leader will partner with peers within the areas of Digital & Client Experience, as well TIAA’s Marketing and Brand leaders to deliver a standard of quality that elevates the brand and ensures the highest standards across all TIAA experiences.

Work Experience

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
15+ years design direction and creative leadership experience
Visual design, identity, storytelling, branding and flawless execution
Deep knowledge of digital trends, web frameworks and platforms, innovation and technology
Extensive experience leading digital design, production and agency partner teams
Expert knowledge of best practices in UI/UX and information architecture
Strong understanding of grids, instances, typography, layout, and components within responsive design systems
Strong communication skills required to explain design concepts, principles, technical criteria and guidelines to key stakeholders
Collaborating with other design leaders and practitioners to push the limits and look beyond the day-to-day, while working within constraints
Taking ownership for teams and work–from conception to production–ensuring innovative work, best practices, and standards of quality
Applications: Figma, Sketch, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office
Base Pay Range: $199,500/yr. - $332,500/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
