Travel: Approximately 5-10 days travel annually

Job Description

This Vice President level position provides a strategic vision of human resources for the AAFP, creates a positive environment for staff through human resources policies and programs, promotes the development of staff for optimal productivity and retention, enhances staff experience and engagement, minimizes AAFP’s exposure for legal risk, and manages the staff and budget for the Human Resources Division. The position supports approximately 370 employees.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related academic field plus a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible human resources experience in a corporate environment. Applicants must have substantial knowledge and expertise in all facets of human resources management including organizational development, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations and managing HR staff. Experience speaking before large groups of employees necessary. The successful candidate must possess exceptional management/leadership skills, be an excellent communicator (both oral and written), function independently, contribute effectively to a senior management team, and support and model a collaborative work style. The ideal candidate must have the ability to effectively lead people in an organization. Professional certification such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP or similar HR certification preferred.
