Alaant Product Design Engineer in Latham, New York
Alaant Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Product Design Engineer for our client’s growing R&D manufacturing team in Latham, NY. With a strong focus on R&D, they continually look to push the boundaries to deliver high-quality products for their customers.
Our client is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in product design within a manufacturing environment. As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of innovative products from concept to production.
Hours and Benefits for the Product Design Engineer:
Monday – Friday, regular business hours
Salary is between $75,000 - $100,000

Responsibilities for the Product Design Engineer:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and innovative novel product concepts.
Create detailed models and drawings using industry-standard software (ex. SolidWorks) to visualize and communicate design concepts.
Coordinate the prototype process, including selecting appropriate materials, fabrication methods, and suppliers.
Ensure that the designs are optimized for manufacturability.
Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including design specifications, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and test reports. Maintain accurate design iterations, changes, and approvals throughout the development process.
Requirements for the Product Design Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in an R&D or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in SolidWorks modeling and simulation tools.
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and rapid prototyping techniques.
Experience designing products from concept to production, with a track record of successful products in the market.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Cardholder.
