Job Title - Product Manager

Business Division: International Higher Education

Location: Key markets across Asia – Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, and others

Role Overview:

The Product Manager, reporting to the Director of Product Management, is integral to the development of high-value digital products and services for higher education markets in key Asian countries. The role requires a strategic focus on understanding market demands and challenges to create a competitive and balanced portfolio. The Product Manager is responsible for managing the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving market growth, with an emphasis on linguistic and cultural fluency.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management

  • Develop and maintain a well-balanced, market-aligned product portfolio that meets profitability and educational needs.

  • Build expertise in market trends, and actively manage relationships with authors and subject matter experts.

  • Collaborate with teams across Product, Sales & Marketing, and Learning Research to enhance portfolio value and learner outcomes.

Market Research & Customer Insights

  • Lead research initiatives to maintain insights into educator and learner needs and challenges in key Asian markets.

  • Identify critical customer/learner pain points, evaluate market opportunities, and validate product-market fit.

  • Conduct competitive analyses to support business cases and product decisions.

Strategic Planning

  • Cultivate insights on higher education challenges and market trends across Asian countries, using them to inform strategic decisions.

  • Integrate data-driven insights into the product development process.

  • Support sales teams by providing product insights critical for securing new business opportunities.

Go-to-Market & Customer Experience

  • Oversee market development for new digital products, establishing early adopter communities and shaping go-to-market strategies.

  • Take ownership of the customer experience, ensuring products meet high standards of quality and engagement.

  • Act as an internal and external ambassador, generating excitement and support for products in the portfolio.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Product Management Expertise: Strong understanding of the product management lifecycle, ideally within education or higher education sectors.

  • Educational Knowledge: Knowledgeable in education and learning, with a preference for higher education experience.

  • Language Fluency: Fluency in English and proficiency in Thai, Bahasa and/Viatnamese is preferrable to support effective communication and market understanding.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Organizational & Analytical Skills: Highly organized with analytical capabilities to drive portfolio strategy.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent skills in communication, influencing, negotiation, and presenting; excels in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

  • Market Research Proficiency: Skilled in research methods such as surveys, focus groups, and observation to derive insights.

  • Customer-Centric: Strong relationship-building abilities and empathy for customer needs, with experience in community development.

  • Digital Development Awareness: Familiarity with digital content development and instructional design is an asset.
