Job Summary
The Pharmacy Student will provide clinical and operational pharmacy services for assigned area(s), optimizing the quality of patient care under the supervision of a preceptor. The Pharmacy Student will be a self-directed, motivated learner as guided by intern program leaders and preceptors.
Examples of major learning and development activities for the Pharmacy Student include: participate in key services such as vaccination programs, medication listing, discharge counseling, medication navigation and medication therapy management, provide education for pharmacists, technicians and other health care professionals regarding proper drug therapy, and conduct research and quality improvement projects. The Pharmacy Student provides pharmacy operations support to develop a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of pharmaceutical care within the hospital or community pharmacy settings.
The Pharmacy Student acts in accordance with current policies and procedures. Appropriate and current state licensure and continuing education requirements must be completed prior to the start date and be active for the duration of employment. Able to work shifts consistent with the requirements outlined in the Novant Health Pharmacy Student Intern Program.

Qualifications
Education: High School or GED, Required.
Active enrollment in an ACPE accredited School or College of Pharmacy
Completion of 2nd year curriculum at an accredited school/college of pharmacy
Minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on pharmacy school coursework
Experience: Hospital or community pharmacy experience, preferred. Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certification and/or NCBOP Registration
Licensure/Certification: Completion of an ACPE accredited education program with injection technique and response to vaccine reactions (ex: APhA Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery), Required. Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation certified, required.
Additional Skills Required:
Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations as needed; meet physical examination standards and requirements.
Current registration with the applicable state board of pharmacy is required.
