The summer administrative internship offered to an undergraduate student interested in health administration at a pediatric institution supports the teaching mission of Children's Mercy. The intern will gain exposure to the complex operations of a major pediatric academic medical center, become engaged in a mix of observational experiences, meetings, and projects, and receive guidance and mentorship from experienced healthcare leaders. Precepted by a Vice President and supervised by the Administrative Fellow(s), the intern will identify personal and professional goals that CM will help to accomplish.

Participate in shadowing experiences in clinical and non-clinical departments
Assist with projects as assigned which offer a learning opportunity to expand capabilities and develop new skills, such as: managing and analyzing data to inform department/CM strategy, assessing and summarizing new business opportunities, developing process flow maps of current processes and making recommendations around improving processes, and reviewing and completing financial analyses and statements.
Attend and participate in high-level management meetings
- HS diploma or equivalent Working toward bachelor's degree in health policy and administration. and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $15.00, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
