Job Description:

A Senior Clinical Consultant for the Cerner Federal Team will Partner with Cerner client clinical stakeholders to form relationships and holistically impact client clinical performance, satisfaction, and clinical and business outcomes during project engagements. You will manage complex client relationships with a high degree of variability that require influence to achieve targeted outcomes. You will consult with client to create a strategic value measure plan resulting in value achievement across clinical workflows. You will analyze and interpret data to identify key performance indicators for maintaining business continuity and create mitigation plan to address risk areas. You will identify organizational opportunities to improve quality of care and patient safety. In addition, you will influence client clinical workflow design strategy, coach and mentor other clinical consultants, contribute to internal team value.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including

  • At least 2 years of Licensed health care practice, clinical consulting and/or other clinical healthcare information technology (HCIT) work experience

  • At least 6 years of Additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education

  • Bachelor in Nursing, Clinical Studies, or Health Care

  • Certification of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - State Board, Occupational Therapy - State Board, Registered Nurse - State Board, Registered Dietitian - State Board, Licensed Nutritionist (where required by state law) - State Board, Certified Exercise Physiologist - State Board, Dental Hygienist/Assistant - State Board, Speech Therapy - State Board, Licensed Professional Counselor - State Board, Physical Therapy - State Board, Psychologist - State Board, or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - State Board

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Studies or Health Care

  • Registered Nurse

  • Previous experience with staff scheduling, staffing assignments, staffing workflows, hospital admission/registration process, and/or other related hospital operations

  • Previous experience with workload and workforce management

  • Previous client consulting experience

  • Cerner Millennium application experience

  • Experience managing large, complex full cycle solution implementations


  • Eligible for licensure to practice in their field or comparable global training

  • Willing to travel up to 80% - 100% as needed

  • Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kansas City Metropolitan area or must currently reside in an approved virtual location

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by location regulations

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote.
