Job Description:

The Digital Factory powers DevSecOps in a modern software development & service delivery at Cerner. We are operationalizing the factory in support of our business shift from project-led to service-led software delivery. The Digital Factory delivers a standard set of services and capabilities that power the modern product lifecycle from requirements to run across the diverse set Cerner products.

The Strategy, Planning & Portfolio Management team is the center of gravity for managing the Digital Factory transformation. The team coordinates the development of the strategy, provides transformation & process governance and the business operations plane of the Digital Factory. The leader of this team will be driving change that has impact across organizations and will be in the critical path of revenue generation and continuous optimization of cost. The leader will work across the product lifecycle and across the company to drive major shifts in how software-enabled services are built and delivered at scale. Further, as we embark on the next wave of change associated with the Oracle acquisition, this team will be foundational to driving integration workstreams.

This job requires a senior leader with strategic outlook as well as the ability to motivate technical and business teams to execute. You will have strong collaboration skills and ability to drive change and solve complex problems and also have a mix of technical knowledge and strong business acumen. You will be responsible for creating, managing and evangelizing the Digital Factory strategy - work collaboratively with industry, product, engineering & services leaders to identify opportunities to improve our ability to plan, build, deliver and run our products & services. You will also own the Digital Factory reference architecture that underpins the strategy and is used as the basis for managing capabilities and services and develop and operationalize portfolio management capabilities for Digital Factory services. Additionally, provide business operations for Digital Factory including workforce & talent management, finance and finOps and oversee and coordinate the technology spending and vendor relationships for our engineering labs and remote hosting business. You will propose and lead efforts to drive down overall cost of R&D and delivery and operationalize and manage a strategic initiatives office responsible for driving the Digital Factory transformation, integration and cross-functional programs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 14 years of total combined higher education and related work experience, including:

  • 5 years of process improvement work and 5 years of experience managing strategic initiatives

  • At least 4 years total combined higher education or related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seasoned leader with strong strategic thinking skills, grounded in technology with high level of business acumen and an ability to align for execution

  • Team oriented with ability to work well with high performing, opinionated engineers, technologists and business leaders

  • At least 5 years of people management work experience

Expectations

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%

  • Currently living in a virtually approved city

  • Excellent analytical, organization, problem solving and execution skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate & coordinate cross-functional work teams to deliver outcomes

  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities - in the `critical path of revenue generation

  • Ability to drive change in an orchestrated way – coordinating across people, process and technology vectors
