The Operations Specialist-Account Services is apart of the Deposit Operations team that is responsible for controlling bank losses as they relate to item processing errors and adjustments. Within the Deposit Operations environment, this team interacts with various UMB clients and internal partners to ensure transactions have compliant documentation to process agencies. With our robust training to provide extensive UMB and financial knowledge, the Deposit Operations team provides account maintenance and support to our operations customers.

These Operations Specialist-Account Services associates each have a specific and impactful function for our clients and UMB to ensure accurate process requests. The Deposit Operations team are subject matter experts that assist to educate business partners and customers on data and business requirements for signature cards and other regulatory documentation.

The Operations Specialist-Account Services is responsible for processing adjustments and customer corrections for all lines of business throughout UMB. This position assists clients with any questions and issues they may face while creating an unparalleled client experience. The Operations Specialist-Account Services ensures appropriate documentation is secured from clients, financial institutions, and requesting agencies to ensure we are hitting compliance. If information is missing or needs updated for existing records; the Operations Specialist-Account Services corrects the information. This role also focuses on reporting along with monitoring work flow for the team and dividing work out to the team accordingly. You can expect a fast-paced environment with unpredictable scenarios while maintaining flexibility and adaptability to client needs. Our Operations Specialist-Account Services are motivated to be self-driven and enjoy the challenge of learning new skills while controlling the progression of their career. This role focuses account protection for our customers while identifying efficiencies for the department.

The Deposit Operations team is about creating strong connections amongst its associates to develop and maintain a positive working experience. You are valued for who you are in a fun, professional setting. It is a smaller team that works closely together to ensure everyone is successful. Associates are supported and encouraged to work with their manager to develop roadmaps for opportunity within Operations and beyond.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • You will use problem solving skills to determine what action needs to be taken to make commercial accounts reconciled.

  • You will need strong communication skills to make a positive client experience.

  • You will be a team player to work out solutions within your team to help clients and mitigate loss for UMB.

  • Associate Degree and 2 years of banking experience OR

  • 5 years of banking experience

  • Check processing/check adjustments experience
