The Whole Person Marketing Specialist in Kansas City, Missouri

Department: Marking and Communications

Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager

Status: FT - Non-Exempt

Hours per week: 40


This position supports the Marketing and Communications Manager and internal organizational teams, through project support, program execution, collateral development and production, and through day-to-day operations including executing marketing campaigns, promotions, fundraising events, social media marketing and website maintenance and support.


  • Assist with the development and implementation of organization marketing strategies, including advertising campaigns, content marketing, collateral development and other related projects for the organization as a whole as directed by manager, including implementation of consistent brand deliveries across all channels

2.Responsible for the planning, production, and marketing of branded materials needed for the Adaptive Sports program including collateral development, projects, website and social media marketing strategy and promotion

3.Assist with annual events and other fundraising campaigns by creating digital content and print marketing content specific to the event; review, proofread, and edit documents/projects, social media and website strategy and promotion as directed by manager

4.Organize/execute photo shoots for digital content used on social media, website, or other various projects

  • Responsible for all areas of the department when manager is out of the office

  • Assist with maintenance of organization’s library of marketing collateral, ensuring content is accurate and up-to-date

  • Execute production, printing, and distribution of marketing materials for all internal teams and external community requests

  • Assist with variety of tasks including apparel, promotional products, signage and other projects

  1. Regular and predictable attendance


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or other related field

  • 4-5 years of graphic design or marketing experience: demonstrated basics of layout, color, typography and design principles

  • Ability to work extended hours on occasion, including weekends and evenings; required participation that may be physical in nature

  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint on a PC Platform; Content Management Systems, social media and email marketing platforms


  • Experience creating accessible documents and deliverables

  • Experience in obtaining estimates on projects, prepress and print production

  • Personal experience with a disability
