Burns & McDonnell Government Audit / Contract Analyst - Corporate Accounting & Finance (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Government Audit & Contract Analyst will provide consultative technical/analytical and functional support in the area of contract management and audit functions.

  • Ensures compliance with FAR and CAS and various Federal and State regulations

  • Designs and participates in various compliance audits with DCAA, DCMA, State Departments of Transportation as well as other client audits

  • Acts as liaison with government auditors

  • Prepares audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries as necessary

  • Prepares audit reports in accordance with FAR, CAS and AASHTO Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide

  • Calculates the Company's overhead rate annually

  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of Company's CASB Disclosure Statement

  • Assists in the preparation and submission of the Annual Incurred Cost Submissions

  • Prepare annual prequalification audit packages for various states

  • Maintain and provide cost/pricing data for Federal and State contract proposals

  • Review all Federal contract proposals

  • Monitors company compliance with time reporting policy

  • Evaluates conformance of company policies and procedures with applicable regulations and recommend changes when appropriate

  • Monitors developments in government procurement statues, regulations, and CAS Board pronouncements

  • Notifies senior management of any changes to regulations and the potential impact of the change on current company processes

  • Ensures that processes supporting the government compliance function are effective and efficient in accordance with best practices within the industry

  • Research, develop and implement process improvements in close collaboration with management.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum four (4) years of previous related government accounting experience (prior DCAA and/or experience with engineering and construction industry preferred)

  • In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide is also preferred

  • Prior experience with System Award Management (SAM) Administrator, Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Registrations Certification Applications preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks
