Job Description:

The Shared Services Engineering Enterprise Service’s team is looking to add a Business Systems Analyst I to their team. The team is focused on delivering product functionality for both third-party and custom applications. The team aligns business requirements and system and applications capabilities that have a direct impact on both our clients and Cerner associates. The work is non-routine, complex, and involves solving problems at an enterprise level.

As a Business Systems Analyst I, you will drive the efficient operations within a line of business by analyzing business processes and data to provide business insight. You will be responsible for articulating key process flows and stakeholders, describe and manipulate data sets, sources, and structures as well as gather requirements and manage multiple inputs and priorities. As a member of this team, you will align business needs with systems we offer, develop reporting to make data more meaningful to business initiatives, analyze data quantitatively and qualitatively and communicate findings, this will also include identifying root cause of problems with reports or data sets within the domain.

Finally, your responsibilities will include collaborating on data quality conditions and monitoring with domain business subject matter experts.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years total combined higher education and related work experience including:

  • At least 1 year experience in implementation, management and/or maintenance of enterprise business systems

  • At least 4 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Business or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience with Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Google Analytics


  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed

  • Must be able and/or willing to live in the Kansas City area OR live in a virtually approved city
