Overview

This role is critical to managing the optimal staffing levels in all registration areas. Position exists to accommodate registration support needs that vary daily by schedule and location. Functions performed by this role directly impact departments such as Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, clinical services, and other areas within the hospital. Individuals in this role often serve as a patient's first impression of customer service prior to the delivery of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides registration coverage for assigned areas, remaining flexible to changing location, day, and time coverage needs. Obtains, enters and verifies demographic and financial information in the computer system for ambulatory areas including ancillary departments, emergency room, urgent care, lab, radiology, same day surgery, and ambulatory clinics.

  • Performs clerical duties at the front desk.

  • Adheres to customer service guidelines for the Patient Access Department and demonstrates excellent customer service delivery in daily interactions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree A degree ensures that you are prepared to multitask, complete competency assignments and manage data and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Customer service experience, business office setting, contact center or

  • HS diploma or equivalent Prior experience in a similar role allows the employee to be better equipped and 1-2 years experience Patient Access or customer service role

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $15.00, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
