Position : Corporate Finance Manager

Support corporate planning within the corporate finance department by performing advanced financial modeling, conducting ad hoc financial analyses, and analyzing prospective mergers and acquisitions. Provide treasury assistance. Prepare materials and lead executive meetings and/or interact directly (run calls) with executives. Interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions/best practices. Lead functional teams or projects. May manage other corporate financial analysts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial modeling

o Produce DFA’s five-year forecast

o Work with the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis to understand business unit level drivers over the forecast period

o Present forecast to senior finance team members

Mergers and acquisitions

o Conduct analysis on potential mergers and acquisitions

  • Valuation of potential acquisition and divestiture targets

  • Include impacts of such transactions in DFA’s forecast model

o Coordinate due diligence in M&A transactions

  • Coordinate due diligence tracker

  • Lead diligence meetings with all functional and business units

  • Track status of diligence items

o Track all M&A activity enterprise-wide

Ad hoc financial analysis

o Conduct ad hoc analysis to be presented to senior leadership

o NPV analysis on various projects

o Cost of capital analysis

o Impact of different strategic transactions relative to DFA’s capital structure

o Other analytical projects as assigned

o Capital expenditure return analysis


o Assist with the daily cash process, as needed, including reconciliation, daily debt spreadsheet and commercial paper requests

o Approve wires and ACHs

o Verify new vendors from requests submitted to the accounts payable department

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related curriculum

  • MBA preferred

  • 3 to 5 years of corporate finance experience (as noted above) or 8+ years of progressive finance experience

  • Investment banking, private equity, consulting, or transaction-related experience preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership attributes, team or project leadership, or supervisor experience

  • Certification and/or License– N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge

  • Knowledge of banks and financial markets

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often with tight deadlines

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, for a diverse range of internal and external audiences; must be able to communicate effectively with senior management (public speaking skills a plus)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including exceptional communication and listening skills, with the capacity to articulate positions and provide direction

  • Skill in leadership and coaching

  • Skill in analytical thinking, including research, interpreting data, and analyzing information

  • Able to demonstrate integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and values, including able to maintain confidentiality

  • Knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
