Community Mortgage Loan Officer
Job Description
Summary:
This position will make service calls to current and prospective customers for purpose of generating loan originations and cross-selling of financial services and products and develop referral partner relationships within real estate community and CRA community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate customer prospects through outbound calling and meeting with clients:
Prospect for new loans through phone calls, email, traditional & social networking
Cross-sell financial products to qualified prospects
Use web-based CRM systems for assistance in calling current company customers
Load complete 1003 residential loan application into Loan Origination System (Encompass)
Pull credit, determine eligibility, set product, lock rate, turn quality file into processing
Discuss Programs, Products, and Fees with customers and determine scenario in customer’s best interest
Disclose documents within 3 days of application
Assist with getting documents back from client
Become an expert on real estate agent partnership building, including the following duties: (make service calls to nurture potential customers, agent prospecting, and attend networking meetings)
Attend relevant investor, bank, governmental and association trainings as requested by supervisor
Attend events that engage community involvement in home ownership in the low to moderate income areas and low to moderate income borrowers
Generate loan applications through self-generation and referral relationships
Load application into Loan Origination System, determine eligibility, set product, lock rate, turn quality file into processing
Maintain 85% Customer Satisfaction rating with borrowers with minimum response benchmark
Maintain customer confidence by keeping loan information confidential
Qualifications:
General understanding of the mortgage business, sales, and office environment is preferred, but not required.
Positive attitude and pleasant interpersonal skills
Accuracy in details
Business writing skills
Ability to speak and understand English and Spanish language to communicate with customers, co-workers or supervisors
Ability to set and meet priorities
Knowledge of financial statements and tax return forms
Computer skills for word processing and databases
Strong telephone communication skills
Knowledge of documents needed for mortgage or various consumer type loans
Professional appearance and demeanor for interaction with public
Ability to maintain good conversational skills
Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, regulations, forms, departments, and products
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Degree in financial, sales, marketing, or business fields preferred.
3-5 years sales experience preferred
Computer and Software Skills:
Microsoft office suite
Salesforce
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
Mortgage Loan Officer license preferred
