Citizens Sr Data Engineer in Johnston, Rhode Island

Description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Sr. Database Engineer for its Johnston, RI location.

Duties: Design, create and maintain schema objects, design and debug triggers, stored procedures and user defined functions. Monitor and maintain maximum performance of databases. Identify poorly performing queries and work with development teams to tune accordingly. Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime. Implement data backup and recovery procedures to prevent the loss of data from all types of failure. Document, plan, and test Disaster Recovery procedures. Design, implement and maintain database security strategies. Ensure technology roadmaps are incorporated into data and database designs. Coordinates resolution of complex inter-domain technical problems. Resolves architectural issues and problems. Proactively identifies and resolves potential problems before they impact customers. Troubleshoot database production problems and database connectivity issues.

Qualifications

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in technology or quantitative field followed by five years of progressive experience in the role or in a related position. Full term of experience must include: Design, Administration, High Availability, Operational Support, Capacity Planning, and day to day operations for various database platforms. Utilization of Exadata Smart Scan technology to improve database performance by intensive query processing and data mining scoring to scalable intelligent storage servers on the Oracle Exadata cloud at customer infrastructure. Experience with various RDBMS and NO-SQL database operations, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS Cloud, MS Azure, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Atlas, and DocumentDB. Programming and scripting, including SQL, Shell scripting, Python, SSIS, Terraform, PL/SQL, and Version Control SVN/git. Experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions from AWS and Oracle Cloud, including the development of tools and automation to manage infrastructure and application configuration via Infrastructure as code (AWS CLI, Terraform, Ansible). Utilization of database monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Datadog. Utilization of software management methodologies such as SDLC, Agile and/or waterfall.
