Citizens Regulatory Change Management and Compliance Risk Assessment in Johnston, Rhode Island

In this role at Citizens, you will be joining the Regulatory Change Management team which operates out of the newly formed Compliance Operations team, within the bank’s Compliance function. This role is responsible for assisting with the management and delivery of both Regulatory Change Management and the facilitation of the enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment progress. Specific to Regulatory Change Management, this includes the detailed review, assessment, and assignment of new, changes or retirement of actual/potential laws and regulations potentially impacting the bank.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance Operations, the role will have exposure across senior Compliance leadership, as well as the bank’s business, risk, and corporate functions. The Compliance function is undergoing a period of exciting evolution as it seeks to meet and exceed challenges presented through Citizens’ continued growth and regulatory expectations. The incumbent would feel valued and supported, both professionally and personally.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of any new or amended rules to ensure timely review and action by designated business risk partners,

  • Collaboration with designated business risk partners to remain apprised of status of ongoing regulatory implementations as well as to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements ahead of compliance dates,

  • Ongoing engagement with 3rd Party support partner, CUBE™,

  • Daily review and disposition of horizon scanning results with knowledge and ability to determine applicability to Citizens business lines, products and/or services

  • Oversight and maintenance of regulatory content published to the enterprise regulatory library system of record, CUBE, documenting applicability to the enterprise as a Financial Institution and impacted businesses,

  • Production of bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for relevant stakeholders, management, and governance bodies,

  • Assisting with preparation for regulatory exams, specifically in the creation of written responses to inquiries and/or verbal presentations of key processes, and

  • Participation and management of key components of the newly enhanced enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment.

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a compliance role and/or the banking or financial services industries,

  • Familiarity with compliance risk management principles,

  • Familiarity with Citizens Business Lines, products and services

  • Familiarity with regulatory landscape and content types: Laws, Statutes, Administrative Codes, Regulatory Guidance, Agency Guidance, Pending Regulations, Final Regulations, News and Alerts, and Enforcement Actions.

  • Professional designations (CRCM, law degree) a plus,

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint,

  • Familiarity with GRC tools is desired but not required,

  • Strong analytical capabilities,

  • Ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships, facilitate discussions, and diplomatically build consensus across diverse audiences/viewpoints,

  • Excellent communication skills and experience producing high-quality materials for management consumption,

Hours & Work Schedule:

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00-5:00

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position is $116,000- $175,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
