Citizens First Line Risk Sr Manager in Johnston, Rhode Island

As the First Line Risk Senior Manager, you will represent the First Line of Defense and identify and mitigate potential risks through the identification, management, and mitigation of the risk and controls environment supporting Marketing & Communications, including advertising and social media. You will serve as a liaison, interfacing with business partners to drive meaningful reductions in risk. This role will be responsible for proactively reviewing, analyzing, and identifying emerging risks, escalating to the Risk Director of First Line Risk where appropriate. You will work with the Risk Director to adhere to internal governance processes and controls for existing and new risk strategies and provide suggestion for remediation. You will work closely with Compliance and Legal partners to ensure that the business line is up to date and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. This role will also support the Modern Operating Model working with agile development methodologies, where risk assessments will need to be completed for initiatives being managed to support Marketing and the other business lines we enable. This role will also participate in the Marketing Advertising compliance review activities providing approvals and advice and guidance to product Marketing partners as well as QC of advertising reviews.

Duties Include:

  • Support risk management with the risk identification, tracking and remediation for all project work within the Marketing & Comms team. Support various business line projects to address risk issues, working with business leaders to analyze and quantify risks, assess solutions or mitigation activities, and develop remediation plans.

  • Review current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  • Implement and support internal governance processes.

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of business processes along with regulatory requirements for risk management and controls.

  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and risk management consultative support.

  • Review Marketing Advertising collateral to ensure compliance with applicable banking laws, rules, regulations, and supervisory guidance.

  • Provide guidance and feedback related to marketing materials to Marketing and Business Line partners including broker dealer marketing and advertising materials.

  • Assist with determining the appropriate review path marketing collateral will take in OneView

  • On an as needed basis, assist with completing non-product advertising reviews

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years’ experience in Risk Management, Audit, or Compliance

  • Prior experience with managing lending related risks within a Consumer and Commercial financial institution

  • Prior experience implementing and supporting enterprise-wide Risk programs

  • Experience with Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) platforms

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and legislative guidelines

  • Extensive experience managing projects including planning, implementation, and reporting

  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship building and team facilitation skills

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent education or experience

  • Preferred: FINRA Series 7, FINRA Series 63, FINRA Series 24

Hours and Work Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 remote

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
