Citizens Credit Risk Sr Professional in Johnston, Rhode Island


Citizens Bank is looking for an experienced Credit Risk Sr. Professional to support the Home Equity line of business. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to optimize credit strategy and execution and ensure compliance to enterprise policies and risk governance frameworks. This role should have expertise in dealing with complex processes and lending platforms and a solid understanding of how different inputs to credit decisions come together. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of consumer credit lending and regulations, underwriting processes, and systems integrations to translate complex rules for both technical and non-technical audiences. The incumbent will work with teams to ensure and supervise compliance with specific loan approval requirements as well as approved credit policies and procedures, assisting in the execution of the bank's lending portfolio, implementing decision rules, underwriting models, strategies, and monthly reporting.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Understand, interpret, and implement policies and/or strategies being recommended by Product and Credit leads.

  • Development and maintenance of robust policy and procedure environment across all lifecycle activities.

  • Drive changes through policy governance and stakeholder engagements.



  • 6-10 years of relevant experience within the Financial Services industry

  • Knowledge of credit risk processes, tools, and techniques used to determine the degree of credit risk in a given transaction or customer relationship.

  • Knowledge of and ability to help an organization adapt to applicable federal, state, local and company-specific regulations, polices, and guidelines affecting business practices.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills tied to working with wide array of stakeholders in fostering long-term relationships, including (but not limited to) first- and second-line risk colleagues across multiple risk types

  • Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint and Visio


  • Bachelor’s degree required

Hours and Work Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 remote

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule Monday-Friday
