Citizens Commercial AI Strategy & Execution Lead in Johnston, Rhode Island

Description

Citizens is seeking a Commercial AI Strategy & Execution Lead, operating within our Commercial Digital Strategy team, who will have a broad ranging remit to define and guide people, process and technology efforts that support the delivery of artificial intelligence capabilities across the Commercial Bank.

The candidate:

As an AI Strategy & Execution Lead, you will work closely with various business lines and cross-functional teams to accelerate the delivery of both internal and client-facing predictive and generative AI solutions, as well as myriad individual use cases on top of these solutions once live.

This role will be instrumental in defining the future of our work, our organization and operating models, and how we safely bring innovative ideas and disruptive technologies to reality. Working across business lines, core engineering teams, architecture, data, and user experience teams, you will foster both internally-built solutions and vendor-embedded products to increase the breadth and adoption of AI-capable processes. Through active thought leadership, collaboration and coordination, you will also ensure that these capabilities navigate governance, deployment and change management activities as effectively as possible.

Your responsibilities:

In this role, your focus will be to enable AI solutions that benefit our clients and colleagues, deliver insights, assist with decision-making and create business content in a consistent manner across the breadth of Commercial Banking products, services and transactions. You will be responsible for:

  • Helping to define the Commercial AI vision, strategy, and roadmap – ensuring objectives and priorities are in alignment with Citizens’ business goals and customer needs.

  • Developing and prioritizing AI business cases based on benefits and funding availability

  • Operating as an ‘experience owner’, working closely and collaboratively with engineering, data, design and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of the AI roadmap.

  • Championing a data-centric mindset and outcomes throughout the information lifecycle. You will conduct research, gather and analyze insights, and translate findings into actionable AI models and augmented processes that enhance colleague and client engagement and satisfaction.

  • Influencing the end-to-end AI governance process, from solidifying the business concept to safe model deployment and launch. Work across various functional areas including Experience Design, Product Engineering, Architecture, Cybersecurity and Business-led Delivery Pods to define product requirements, manage sprints, and ensure the timely release of high-quality features and updates.

  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure success. Continuously monitor performance, analyze data, and iterate on the product to enhance usability, functionality, and overall user experience.

  • Influencing executive leadership with clear and concise written and verbal messaging that conveys complex business and technical problems and solutions.

  • Leveraging design and change management tools and resources available, to drive journeys, experiences, user stories, acceptance and success criteria.

This is a highly visible role suited to an experienced and adaptable candidate with a track record of successful internal consultancy and data/analytics project delivery, with the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships.

The Business: Digital & Operations, Commercial Banking

Commercial Digital & Operations supports a diverse range of products including Cash Management and Liquidity products, Global Wire Transfer, Automated Clearing House (ACH), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Wholesale Lockbox, International Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodities, and Commercial Loan, Asset Based Lending and Leasing products. Many of these are delivered for Citizens Commercial, Business Banking and Private Banking clients.

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Bachelors degree (Technology majors preferred)

  • 10+ years hands-on data, program management, and/or management consultancy experience, including delivery of complex analytical models and solutions within an agile environment (Scrum)

  • Experience in the financial services (or other highly regulated industry); and with governing and handling highly sensitive/confidential data

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to facilitate conversations with technical and non-technical stakeholders; business analysis, solutions crafting, interaction management and presentation skills

  • Advanced problem solving and the ability to analyze data, identify trends and formulate business solutions

  • Experience with multiple IT disciplines as well as demonstrable understanding of relevant architectural concepts including data architectures; data delivery and APIs; data governance, quality and validation; models (foundation, predictive, generative, reinforcement/machine learning, etc.); and data visualization

  • Familiarity with web and information architectures to deliver artificial intelligence capabilities via effective user interfaces to end-users

  • Heightened ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, often working under own initiative to drive results

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $ 128.250 - $ 213,750 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
