Release Coordinator

job summary:

Description:

  • The release coordinator will be responsible for working with development teams on all aspects of planning/coordination and ultimately deployment of application code to the production environments.

  • As part of the Enterprise Change Management process, the release coordinator will be responsible for quality analysis (QA) at several stages of the release cycle - which are tracked very closely by very senior management.

  • In addition, the release coordinator will be responsible for having a forward looking view at available release windows and work closely with project managers / development leads to prepare release schedule.

  • The release coordinator will be expected to coordinate all release night activities with partner teams (development, support, infrastructure teams) and be an active hands-on participant until the release/deployment is completed.

  • This role requires detailed and accurate status reporting to development leads, support partners as well as management.

  • This position requires the ability to manage multiple different streams at one time and ensure that testing environments are available on time to not delay project milestones.

  • The release manager will also be expected to review existing release processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including automation where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 Years of experience in release planning/coordination or equivalent technical project management capacity deployment capacity (automation, build, environment)

  • Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Previous experience with ITSM Remedy toolset is required

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and be able to effectively prioritize critical tasks as needed

  • Familiar with both software versioning tools and continuous integration tools, such as BitBucket, Hudson, Jenkins, Ansible Tower

  • Requires excellent analytical skills to quickly identify potential process issues and work with respective teams to address them

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure/environment related issues a plus

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in relevant fields

Required Skill sets:

  • ITSM Remedy

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Solid foundation in Horizon JIRA toolset

Additional Skillsets (not required):

  • Continuous Integration, Build and Deployment Tools (Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible Tower)

  • Infrastructure experience in Windows, Linux a plus
