Job Description

This full-time temporary position reports to the Pension Administration Manager and is responsible for providing project and operations support for City of Jacksonville general pension administration. This temporary assignment may last up to 6 months, Primary responsibilities include the following:

Examples of Work

  • Support for Limited Retirement Option (LRO) Program offered to eligible City employees

  • Work on pension calculations including review of employment history, eligible compensation and other factors

  • Assisting Pension Administration Manager as needed with project work, auditing and other pension administration requests

  • Reviewing employees for program eligibility and performing calculations

  • Auditing pension calculations and processes

  • Documenting pension activities

  • Interaction with employees as needed regarding program

  • System testing and systems analysis and planning including requirements

  • Working closely with pension office and treasury staff and support for pension office needs as requested by manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency with math, excel, word, outlook

  • Skill in diligently documenting activities

  • Skill in time management and multitasking

  • Ability to read, understand, and apply job related materials.

  • Ability to learn and work with computerized systems including JaxPension, OnBase.

  • Ability to deliver customer service

  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact, patience and courtesy

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple activities and stay organized

  • Ability to prepare materials, present and work with executives, senior-level staff and pension boards and committees as needed

Open Requirements/Supplemental Information

  • At least 2 years’ experience in pension administration and working on pension projects.

  • Five years pension experience preferred.

  • College degree strongly preferred.

  • Management experience preferred.
