Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining integrations between internal and external data sources.

  • Design, develop, deploy and support new and current ETL processes employing industry standards and best practices to enhance loading of data from and into different source and target systems.

  • Provide and implement solutions to handle schema change, data security, and data versioning.

  • Design, develop and implement a reusable framework to load data from various sources into the talech backend.

  • Consistently writes production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and account for edge cases and errors.

  • Contributes to architectural design, and regularly provides insights and solutions to scalability, reliability, and performance.

  • Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards. Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (CS major or similar fields)

  • Five to six years of relevant experience

  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL

  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with Java is a big plus

  • Familiarity with at least one of the major cloud provider services, preferably AWS and Google Cloud

  • Hands-on Experience with building relational and/or dimensional conceptual/logical data models, transforming conceptual/logical data models into physical models and data artifacts, and in the development of data architectures using application/tools

  • Experience with “ Big Data” ETL technology such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow , and Redis

  • Experience designing and developing data processing ETL frameworks and tools

  • Experience with MySQL and Postgres data sources

  • Experience with web services and API integration

  • Git Version control

  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Proven collaboration and influencing skills

  • Master in Computer Science or similar engineering majors and more than 5 years of experience working as a data/software engineer
