CVS Health Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (React/Angular and Java) in Irving, Texas

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Staff Software Engineer for the PSS Financial analytics team at CVS Health. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and developing high-performance, scalable software solutions. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will guide the technical direction of projects across various teams, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of robust software products that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee the architecture of complex software systems, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals

  • Drive the technical roadmap, making strategic decisions about tools, technologies, and methodologies

  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and design patterns across the engineering team

  • Mentor and guide engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in applications, ensuring they meet high standards for performance and reliability

  • Implement and advocate for best practices in security, ensuring applications are secure and compliant with relevant regulations

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, development processes, and deployment procedures

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts ensuring clarity and understandingto create data products

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in system design, architecture, and leadership roles

  • 3+ years of hands-on SQL experience

  • Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Python, PHP, Java, Node.js, Kotlin

  • Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern libraries and frameworks such as React, Angular etc.

  • Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar

  • Experience with big data technologies such as PySpark, and BigQuery

  • Experience and proficiency in Java, Python and microservices

  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)

  • Experience on DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies

  • Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in developer communities

  • Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies

  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges

  • Skilled in working effectively across different teams and departments, building strong relationships and driving collective success

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
