Position Summary

As Associate Counsel – Pharmacy Legal, you will provide legal advice and counsel to internal business partners with respect to various pharmacy, healthcare and operations initiatives. You will support in identifying business and legal risks and propose solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives. You will support the legal and regulatory review of various pharmacy and healthcare offerings, and assist in researching applicable pharmacy laws and regulations. You will also manage legal aspects of regulatory inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions. Your support will involve significant collaboration with colleagues across the Legal Department, including Board of Pharmacy, Licensing, Privacy, Medicare, and Medicaid SMEs, as well as with external counsel.

In order to be successful in this role you must exhibit the following:

-Pharmacy and healthcare experience, including knowledge of and experience in regulatory laws.

-Experience advising on pharmacy, healthcare issues.

-Strong research skills, with the ability to analyze complex laws and regulations.

-Demonstrated business judgment and acumen required.

-Superior oral and written communication skills required.

-High level of interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple client areas required.

-Superior problem-solving skills required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of legal experience with a law firm, healthcare or retail company.

  • Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited institution required; Bar admission in good standing.

  • 2+ years of healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.

  • Experience with Boards of Pharmacy.

  • Experience with regulatory matters or enforcement defense.

Education

Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited institution (Required)

Bachelors Degree (Required)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
