National Grid is hiring a Document Controller in our Customer Connections Team based in either Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex working on a hybrid basis.
About the role
As a Document Controller you will provide document control for complex, multi-site projects to ensure the delivery of compliant and traceable project documentation.

What you'll do
You’ll be the interface with the FEED Designer/Main Works Contractor’s document controller and systems to ensure that all contractual documents are correctly administered in compliance with National Grid’s policies and procedures.
Ensuring that all documents are logged, reviewed, comments collated, and that changes are identified and updated, you’ll distribute documents to relevant parties, making sure that documentation is controlled and traceable to form part of an audit trail.
You’ll mostly be working from sites across the counties you are stationed in. As well as attending team meeting, centrally located, each month.
What you'll need
You’ll be highly computer literate and have experience in the use and application of standard MS applications; in particular, Sharepoint, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. A keen eye for detail is essential, as the custodian of our documentation we need it to be accurately numbered, formatted and filed.
Extensive experience in the use of Common Data Environments (CDE) and/or collaboration software is key as is experience of project delivery and using naming conventions and metadata in document control.
Experience and Knowledge of project handover records and CDM Health & Safety file requirements would be an advantage as well as an awareness of: Construction contract environment, including contractual terms of conditions and processes.
You’ll also have proven planning and processing management skills and organisational skills.
As you will be required to travel to meetings at National Grid sites a full Clean Driving Licence is also required.
