About the Team:

Our team is responsible for the monthly and annual payroll operations supporting approximately 16,000 employees in India. We manage Payroll Operations for India and Pakistan, with operations based out of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Gurgaon. Payroll is outsourced to a third-party service provider, and our focus is on accurate delivery each month. We also handle payroll-related regulatory compliances, including Income Tax, Provident Fund, Gratuity, ESIC, Professional Tax, Statutory Bonus, and Labour Welfare Fund. Our team fosters a conducive and competitive atmosphere to drive performance and enhance employee experience, managing payroll for six entities every month.

The payroll department is crucial not only for employee salary compensation but also for protecting the company’s reputation by ensuring compliance with various legislations. Payroll significantly impacts our business and every aspect of the organization, from the company’s reputation to employee morale. We lead by example, create a positive work environment, and drive team efforts to achieve group and individual goals. We develop, implement, and improve procedures to streamline workflow and resolve conflicts independently, handling stressful situations appropriately.

Work Shift:

This is a general shift role. However, based on dynamic business requirements, you may be required to work morning, evening, or night shifts.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll for multiple entities.

  • Monitor and resolve integration errors, defect logs, and pre-processing errors regularly to ensure accurate outputs.

  • Reconcile reports, payroll inputs in templates, and ensure timely payroll closure.

  • Promote process automation to drive efficiency.

  • Monitor exit clearances and provide approvals after checking payroll dues.

  • Manage payroll workflow to ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions.

  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

  • Ensure time and attendance processing and interface with payroll if necessary.

  • Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure compliance.

  • Handle regulatory compliances, including Income Tax deductions, Provident Fund, ESIC, PT, Statutory Bonus, and LWF.

  • Support Finance, HR, and management with required reports.

  • Ensure timely year-end reporting when necessary.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and employee queries related to payroll.

  • Conduct payroll orientation for new joiners and periodic payroll awareness sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation in any discipline, with a preference for commerce graduates.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing, demonstrating best practices.

  • Solid understanding of payroll-related compliances and Income Tax.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong problem-solving aptitude.

  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.

  • Strong work ethic and team player.

  • Preferred working knowledge of Time Tracking, Workday, Success Factors, Employee Central, Kronos, Cloudpay etc.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
