As a Sales Account Manager for Ingersoll Rand's Power Tools Division, you will be responsible for sales growth and business development activities with distribution partners, end-users and OEMs; providing technical, application, product, and sales support for the Power Tools Portfolio, with a targeted focus on the Precision Fastening & Assembly Tools range in support of end user growth.

You will formulate business strategies and implement plans to grow overall sales revenue and market share within the region while being knowledgeable of technical products, services, and solutions, establishing yourself as the significant point of contact for each assigned account including business owners, sales teams and service leaders. Duties are clearly centred on end user engagement, new business development and distributor business development for dramatic growth of revenue.

The successful candidate will be passionate about driving growth, a forward-thinker who asks questions and is keen to understand and explore our customers needs before working collaboratively with the wider organisation to deliver solutions and results.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Meet/exceed commitments on bookings, revenues and gross margin, to deliver on forecasts and R&O Planning. Negotiate and manage sales opportunities within the existing channel strategy within the distribution and end-user network.

  • Creation of long term successful business partnerships based on the principles of mutual benefit and focused on growth.

  • Develop and drive network behaviour and performance across the product portfolio.

  • Maximize territory coverage. Develop new Specialized Accounts and Direct Key Accounts.

  • Effective, appropriate and timely management of the day to day administration including; submission of reports, forecast, project updates etc.

  • Campaign Engagement, Management and Reporting

  • Active Account & End-User Field Visits, Demonstrations & Sales Opportunity Management

  • Providing commercial, technical and application support to distributors and key end users.

  • Enhance end user market intimacy through frequent contact with key customers and vertical markets.

  • Monitoring of competitor activity and its communication back to marketing/sales management.

  • Champion the regional coordination and communication of new product launches.

  • Marketing intelligence gathering to enable competitive benchmarking and value proposition positioning.

  • Take an active role in End-User & Distribution training activities.

Technical Skills / Work Experience:

  • Demonstrable previous experience in sales (Minimum 3 Years), working within the industrial/manufacturing sector

  • Degree preferred, in Engineering or Business related disciplines

  • Proven track record in End-User Direct Sales, Distribution Management and Account Management.

  • Strong Written, Verbal & Presentation Skills.

  • Preferred, but not essential, experience and knowledge in Pneumatic, Electric and Battery Power Tools, Assembly Tools, Ergonomic Handling, Industrial Lifting Equipment

  • Proficient in Computer Skills: Microsoft Applications & CRM (Salesforce – Beneficial)

  • Ability to explore opportunities, ask questions and understand customers needs beyond fixed product and solutions.

  • Dynamic self-starter with the ability to function independently in pursuit of strategic goals and objectives.

  • Able to adapt to change and work within a culture focused on world-class customer experience and aggressive growth/expansion.

  • Proven track record of delivering results, both financial and behavioural, in difficult economic times.

  • Comfortable with extensive travel throughout the region as a core part of the role (up to 80%).

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills.

  • Well-organized relative to time and territory management, and associated administrative functions.

  • Ability to prioritize and work the necessary hours to effectively execute the job responsibilities.
