General Electric Senior Director, Region VCP in Houston, Texas

Job Description Summary

The Senior Director Region VCP will lead an analytics-based project funnel with tangible benefits across the material, labor and other variable cost categories. This leadership role will work & partner with USCAN Service VCP, Global Service VCP, modalities and the field to identify opportunities, establish programs and accelerate VCP realization. Serve as a vocal advocate and engaged sponsor of VCP across USCAN Service; drive visibility and accountability across key stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

This role reports solid line to the Region Service Vice President.

Essential responsibilities include the following:

  • Identify trends adverse to cost-efficient service delivery; leverage data to identify root causes with proposed solutions; develop and vet business cases for these solutions; gain project approvals and funding; shepherd and drive projects and their functional owners to successful completion, with validated field benefits.

  • Lead, mentor and coach the Region team on LEAN tools and methodologies; and drive broader buy-in, engagement and action on VCP ideas and programs.

  • Drive simplification and innovation into VCP work streams to deliver optimal benefit/resource tradeoffs across projects & programs, while building and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and productivity

  • Work as the catcher with Global and USCAN Service, modalities and the field to realize tangible benefits by partnering to ensure the implementation and completion of VCP projects.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years operational or analysis experience in the technical, healthcare or business environment or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 8 years progressive experience in operational analysis, technical, healthcare or business environment.)

  • Experience with leading cross functional teams to achieve business goals.

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA, experience in an operations leadership role. Strong business acumen, including a strong financial background.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate with employee and customers at all levels Profit & Loss (P&L) exposure

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional skills as a change agent and process oriented individual

  • Ability to resolve complex issues within functional area and/or area of expertise

  • Ability to develop and execute priorities and approaches to meet objectives .

  • Prior experience with implementing and coaching LEAN (AWOs, PSRs, Hoshin, others)
