Job Purpose and Impact
The Electricity Merchant will handle a supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. We seek a professional with good knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards to manage electricity supply between suppliers and end-user customers. In this role, you will manage transactions and maintain energy supply reliability to customer plants.
Key Accountabilities
Originate, procure and sell energy commodities to customers to reach target volumes and gain revenue.
Collaborate with suppliers, customers and credit managers to ensure efficient execution.
Monitor performance, delivery, and contract terms of energy suppliers and utilities.
Respond in a prompt and timely manner to disruptions of supply which will impact plant reliability.
Manage market, position and profit and loss reports based on data and specialty reports gathered by junior team members.
Research and analyze various opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
Build direct relationships with customers, suppliers, utilities, and business counterparts to develop business solutions.
Negotiate and review contracts with select suppliers for energy services and supplies.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of four years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Energy experience
Understanding of commodities trading
Experience developing relationships with customers
