Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager to support a corporate service client. This position is remote and the ideal candidate should reside in Texas and New Jersey . Travel is required and you will be expected to travel up to 20%.

Job Summary :

As a Customer Chef, you will support, from a culinary perspective, the CD Team by assisting in the delivery of critical customer presentations and new menu ideations. You will act as a savory expert. Lead the culinary content development for specific culinary projects in North America in conjunction with your chef peers and in collaboration with the Head chef. In particular, you will be an accelerator in the delivery of Savory/Scratch Cooking growth initiatives designed to enhance the value of UFS brands at both existing customers and new ones. Customer Chefs will work in concert with Marketing, CD Ops, Finance and Supply Chain to coordinate efforts and resources on behalf of their Zone.   

Key Responsibilites:

  • 3+ years culinary experience in the Foodservice Industry (Corporate or Kitchen) 

  • Culinary Arts Degree 

  • 3+ years working in or with Retail Food Service.

  • Solution selling mindset with a creative ability to solve customer needs 

  • Ability to collaborate with sales teams to both hunt and farm for business in the market 

  • Understanding of the Broadline Distribution Network (Sysco, US Foods etc) 

  • Experience selling branded food categories a plus

  • Excellent communication and follow up skills throughout the layers of Unilever organization. 

  • Accountability to deliver KPIs, Goals as a team 

  • Business Planning and Implementation 

  • Consumer/Operator Understanding & Passion 

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

Position Summary

This position provides culinary support to unit (s) in terms of cross unit culinary expertise, sales presentation support, bench strength to District/Area. Position supports a large area, as well as large culinary needs – i.e. large catering functions; This job also supports training - training and development of frontline and new culinary exempt hires, menu development, culinary development of the programs/platforms. Financial plate costing; food management systems – FMS training and management; compliance product and vendor compliance.

Travel capabilities, setting up systems, assist in recruitment – frontline and management; maintain and set standards; financial knowledge – plate cost, cost of sales, product management, P&L, Inventories.

Key Duties

-Menu development; Culinary planning; Culinary production; Recipe development;

-Plate costing; Inventory management, FMS (implementation and training)

-Training – food safety / FMS / Standards

-Staffing support – recruiting, selection of chefs, development

-Computer capabilities – culinary systems knowledge and expertise - FMS

-Representing company in presentations – sales, new programs, retention, etc.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years
