Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Software Engineer will work with product managers to understand new features within the product and the engineering team to validate design. In this role, you will develop a feature from concept, through a release and to production. You will provide instrumental software development services to enable our digital future.

Key Accountabilities

  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Implement modern engineering practices to ensure product quality practices.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and evaluate business requirements.

  • Establish governance check points, best practices and standards.

  • Provide designs, prototypes and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry standards.

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Mentoring other engineers on the team.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

  • Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring, telemetry, logging, reporting and dashboarding

  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure services

  • Varying depths of experience in a variety of programming languages and tools with a preference toward open source technology

  • Experience in an agile software development environment

  • Ability to design and write testable code in open source frameworks

  • Ability to develop through the entire application and infrastructure stack

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with development technologies

  • Experience in building high performance applications that are scalable and resilient

  • Ability to create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation

  • Experience working with the React Javascript framework.

  • Experience developing APIs with Java Spring Boot.
