Job Description

U.S. Bank (NYSE: USB) is seeking a motivated Senior Data Engineer to help execute key data initiatives including migration to cloud thereby enabling our core business to meet/exceed their growth objectives.

You will work with modern technologies to take raw data and transform it into useful information that is accessible to both internal and external consumption channels. Key responsibilities include:

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead and actively participate in the development process, bringing hands-on expertise to transformational initiatives.

Data Engineering Focus:

  • Design and implement robust and scalable solutions.

  • Performance tuning and efficiency of data-related processes and systems.

Agile Collaboration:

  • Embrace Agile methodologies, ensuring the development process is adaptive, collaborative, and responsive to change.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality solutions on time.

Technology Proficiency:

  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the core cloud platforms including Cloud data migration.

  • Implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.

  • Model data sources to help draw a more comprehensive picture of user flows to enable powerful data analysis

Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as an excellent communicator and collaborator, fostering strong partnerships with business leaders, product teams, and other technology stakeholders.

DevOps Principles

  • Implement and advocate for DevOps principles to enhance development, testing, and deployment processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 6+ years’ experience working with various database technologies e.g. SQL Server

  • 4+ years’ experience working with large data sets, and optimizing data processes

  • 3+ years of experience with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools

  • 6+ years hands-on experience with ETL and Data Management tools

  • 2+ years’ experience with CI/CD pipelines, and Cloud technologies preferably Azure

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Java

  • Hands-on experience with APIs, Microservices

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
