The VP, Product Engineering leads high performing teams responsible for critical exam creation and delivery software at Pearson VUE. This includes the rapidly growing area of remote proctoring (test at home), which has become a critical part of our certification industry. The VP, Product Engineering also has responsibility for the Test Security team, which manages a critical roadmap of special projects designed to improve the security posture across our entire organization. What does this role do?
Responsible for deep understanding of the needs of the customer and market demands, and for collaborating with Product Management and stakeholders to define and drive a vision and road map.
Accountable for managing support for existing products and services, as well as the development of new products and services. Owns on time and on budget delivery of projects conducted within the area.
Drives project delivery practices, processes and improvements.
Manages the portfolio’s overall budget, which includes understanding and managing to funding direction in coordination with CTO and Finance team.
Responsible for a team of management leaders, who own the day-to-day staffing, support, and development processes of the various key service areas. Is intimately familiar with each area, and able to assist the managers with addressing difficult problems and developing improvement strategies.
Ensures success in developing strong teams across the organization, with proper succession planning for key roles. Includes recruiting and retention strategies, and development of a positive and vital work environment.
Responsible for representing and communicating key service areas strategies, plans, and capabilities, both internally to executive and stakeholder teams, and externally to clients.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
10+ years of technology management experience
Background in executive level management
Proven track record of successfully leading multiple teams through to deliver business goals and requirements
